1VD injectors for the LandCruiser 70 and 200 Series

The 1VD-FTV is Toyota's 4.5 litre turbo-diesel V8, fitted to the LandCruiser 70 Series (VDJ76, VDJ78 and VDJ79) from 2007 and the 200 Series (VDJ200) from late 2007. It's the engine behind some of the hardest-working vehicles in the country, from station utes and mine-site troop carriers to touring wagons. With eight injectors and big kilometres, injector wear is one of the most common faults. We stock genuine Denso 1VD injectors for both series, plus genuine Toyota injector lines and leak-off rails.

Which 1VD injector do I need?

VehicleYearsInjector
LandCruiser 70 Series (VDJ76, VDJ78, VDJ79) 4.5L V82007-2017Denso 095000-9770
LandCruiser 200 Series (VDJ200, incl. GX) 4.5L V811/2007-09/2015Denso 095000-9780

The 70 Series and 200 Series both use the 1VD-FTV but take different injectors, and they are not interchangeable. Check the number on your existing injectors, or call us on 0433 721 935 with your VIN or rego and we'll confirm the right part before you order.

79 Series injectors

The 79 Series single and dual cab, the 78 Series troop carrier and the 76 Series wagon all share the same 1VD injector, the Denso 095000-9770. It supersedes several earlier Denso and Toyota numbers, including 095000-6740, 095000-7180, 095000-8050 and Toyota 23670-51010, so if your old injector carries one of those numbers, this is the replacement.

LandCruiser 200 Series injectors

The 200 Series V8 uses the Denso 095000-9780, which replaces earlier numbers including 095000-6730, 095000-7530 and Toyota 23670-51020. It suits the VDJ200 wagon including the GX, built from November 2007 to September 2015.

Replace the lines and leak-off rails at the same time

  • 1VD injector lines (set of 8): genuine Toyota high-pressure pipes 23701-51010 to 23704-51010. The lines are designed to seal once, and worn lines can shed particles into new injectors.
  • 1VD leak-off rails (left and right): genuine Toyota 23761-51010 and 23762-51010. Old return rails go brittle with heat and often crack when disturbed during an injector change.

Signs your 1VD injectors are worn

  • Rough idle, a "miss" or uneven running
  • Excessive smoke, especially on start-up or under load
  • Loss of power when towing or climbing
  • Hard starting, particularly when cold
  • Higher fuel consumption
  • Oil level rising or smelling of diesel, which can indicate a leaking injector

Our Diagnose Your Diesel guide covers the common checks, and we offer injector testing at our Brisbane workshop. A faulty 1VD injector left too long can cause piston and turbo damage, which turns an injector job into a much bigger repair.

Genuine Denso, not copies

Every 1VD injector we sell is a genuine Denso unit, the same manufacturer that supplies Toyota. Cheap copies are common online and frequently fail early. All our injectors come with a 12-month warranty and ship fast Australia-wide. See all Toyota diesel parts, including 1KD injectors for the Hilux and Prado.

1VD injector FAQs

Do the 70 Series and 200 Series use the same injector?

No. Both use the 1VD-FTV V8, but the 70 Series takes the Denso 095000-9770 and the 200 Series takes the Denso 095000-9780. They are not interchangeable.

Should I replace all eight injectors at once?

We recommend it. Injectors wear at a similar rate, and a matched set gives even fuelling across all eight cylinders. Replacing a few at a time usually means pulling the engine apart again soon after.

Do new 1VD injectors need coding?

Yes. 1VD injectors carry a compensation (QR/ID) code that needs to be programmed into the ECU with a suitable scan tool after fitting. Your mechanic or diesel specialist can do this when the injectors go in.

Should I replace the injector lines too?

Yes. High-pressure lines are designed to seal once, and worn lines can shed particles that damage new injectors. We stock the genuine Toyota set of 8.

Can you install the injectors for me?

Yes. See our workshop installation service in Brisbane, or call 0433 721 935.
