Ford Ranger PX and Mazda BT-50 injectors

We stock genuine VDO (Continental) injectors for the PX-generation Ford Ranger and its twin, the Mazda BT-50, with the 2.2 litre four-cylinder (P4AT) and 3.2 litre five-cylinder (P5AT) Duratorq diesels. If you're looking for P5AT injectors for a 3.2L Ranger or BT-50, you're in the right place. These utes are some of the most popular in Australia, and plenty are now well past 150,000 km of work and towing. Worn injectors are a common cause of rough running, smoke and lost power. We also stock the genuine Garrett turbocharger for the 3.2L.

Which Ranger injector do I need?

VehicleEngineInjector
Ford Ranger PX (PX1) & Mazda BT-50 2.2L / 3.2L, from 2011P4AT / P5ATVDO A2C53307917
Ford Ranger PX2 & Mazda BT-50 2.2L / 3.2L, from 2015P4AT / P5ATVDO A2C81394900

The 2.2L and 3.2L engines share the same injector within each generation, but the PX and PX2 injectors are different parts. Ford also changed injector numbers during production, so the safest way to order is to match the number on your existing injector, or call us on 0433 721 935 with your VIN or rego and we'll confirm the right part.

PX (PX1) Ranger injectors

The original PX Ranger, often called the PX1, and the matching BT-50 arrived in 2011 with the 2.2L P4AT and the 3.2L P5AT. Our genuine VDO injector for these models is A2C53307917, also listed under Ford numbers including BK2Q-9K546-AG and Mazda U202-13-H50.

PX2 Ranger injectors

The PX2 update from 2015 brought revised injectors for both engines. Our genuine VDO PX2 injector is A2C81394900, also listed under Ford CK4Q-9K546-AA. Check the number on your existing injectors before ordering, as PX and PX2 injectors are not interchangeable.

3.2L turbocharger

We stock the genuine Garrett 889939-5001W turbocharger for the 3.2L P5AT in the Ranger PX2 and PX3, Everest and BT-50 from 2015. It's a variable nozzle turbo with an electronic actuator, and comes with gaskets.

Signs your Ranger injectors are worn

  • Rough or uneven idle
  • Black or white smoke, especially under load
  • Loss of power when towing or overtaking
  • Hard starting
  • Higher fuel consumption
  • Check engine light or injector fault codes

Our Diagnose Your Diesel guide covers the common checks, and we offer injector testing at our Brisbane workshop. Don't run a faulty injector for long, as over-fuelling can damage the turbo, DPF and pistons.

Genuine VDO, not copies

Every Ranger and BT-50 injector we sell is a genuine VDO (Continental) unit, the original supplier to Ford and Mazda. All our injectors come with a 12-month warranty and ship fast Australia-wide. Looking for injectors for the older PJ/PK Ranger 2.5L (WLAT) or 3.0L (WEAT)? See the PJ/PK 3.0L injector and PJ/PK 2.5L injector, or our Bosch injectors, or all Ford and Mazda diesel parts.

Ranger injector FAQs

Do the 2.2L and 3.2L Ranger use the same injector?

Within each generation, yes. The PX 2.2L and 3.2L share an injector, and the PX2 2.2L and 3.2L share an injector. The PX and PX2 injectors are different.

Does the BT-50 use the same injector as the Ranger?

Yes. The BT-50 of the same generation shares the Ranger's P4AT and P5AT engines and injectors.

Do new Ranger injectors need coding?

Yes. These injectors carry a calibration code that needs to be programmed into the ECU with a suitable scan tool after fitting. Your mechanic or diesel specialist can do this when the injectors go in.

Can you install the injectors for me?

Yes. See our workshop installation service in Brisbane, or call 0433 721 935.
