What this part does

The suction control valve (SCV), also called a fuel metering valve, controls how much diesel enters the high-pressure pump and so regulates rail pressure. A sticking valve can cause surging, a hunting idle, stalling, hard starting and rail-pressure codes, which can look like pump or injector faults.

Fitting

Compare the valve body, mounting and electrical connector with the removed unit. Rule out low-pressure supply and wiring faults first, then carry out any fuel-system relearn the manufacturer specifies. If you're not sure, our professional installation service can diagnose and fit it.
